1911 Pistol Pendant

John M. Browning designed the 1911 pistol which was the standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces from 1911 to 1985.  Since this was the 100th anniversary of one of the great weapons of all time, I thought I should make a 1911 pistol pendant as a tribute to our military and John Browning. This pistol was the backbone of our fighting troops and many shooting sports enthusiasts use these designs today for competition shooting and protection.

The 1911 pistol pendant

is great for shooters and enthusiasts alike, it is all sterling silver with brass handles and has great detail, all hand stamped designs and fabricated with recycled sterling silver. This 1911 pistol pendant is the kind of piece someone would cherish for a lifetime. The 3mm Anchor chain is separate and it is assembled by us for this project.

Most 1911 pistol pendant

are of the cast type this piece is hand cut out of sheet material. The designs are then hand stamped into the metal. The pieces are silver soldered together and then a great polish is applied.  The 1911 pistol pendant is a classic,  make sure you get one of these great tributes to John Browning and his great inventions.

This Eagle and Arrow Pendant was done to commemorate the 4th of July, a symbol of independence and freedom for our troops in the military far away from home. The Eagle is the same eagle used in many military insignia and on many United States Stamps and Currency of our great country.

Sterling Silver Eagle Pendant

is handmade with 100% post consumer scrap so this item is GREEN and is all handmade. An ingot of recycle silver is poured and a sheet of Sterling Silver is rolled to the specifications needed for this piece. The Eagle Pendant is then cut and stamped and given a spectacular polish so that it can shine for everyone.  The thickness is 1.6mm thick and the Eagle Pendant is 1.5 inches across making this a great piece for anyones Eagle Pendant Collection.

Crossed pistols pendant

I was contacted recently about a project involving crossed pistol pendant for an avid pistol shooter and she  wanted the number 22 on it because of some meaning it had to her and her friends. I sat down and penciled out the design and after looking at it for a few days, I decided to make it two tone for a stunning affect. I started with a piece of jewelers brass and made my the base design and then made the sterling silver accents. I stamped the features that were needed on the guns and silver soldered my accents to the piece. A little sanding, some pre-polish and then a nice final polish finished my piece to perfection.  My customer was thrilled with the results.

Bear claw pendants are something you get asked to do from time to time when you live in the Southwest and make southwestern jewelry. This piece was commissioned by one of my customers recently and they had some scrap gold to use for the bear. The gold Bear which is attached to the silver cap is a Heartline Bear which symbolizes health, long life, and good luck. This Bear Claw was a fairly large one and the piece ended up outstanding.

This last week a friend of mine who shoots competition shotguns asked me if i could make a replica of his favorite shotgun to hang from his truck mirror. I wasn’t sure how i was going to proceed so i got a picture of his shotgun and started to draw a pattern. This was not going to be like the Glock Pistol I did last year. So I just decided to jump in with no more thinking about it.  The vent rib on the top was the hardest part, each of those holes had to be drilled and then cut one by one with a jewelers saw. Overall its about 2.75 inches. I had breakfast with him on Saturday and watched his eyes light up when he saw the finished product. Projects like this are not always the normal jewelry project for most jewelers. They can be fun, challenging and very rewarding. This particular charm might make a good design for a Money Clip for the Holidays.

This week I was asked by a local group to make something for a silent auction to help with medical expenses for a man who had Heart surgery. These are very expensive surgeries and even if you have health insurance a lot of expenses do not get paid. This particular family was associated with one of our motorcycle organizations Pueblo Bikers United so I thought a motorcycle pendant would be appropriate. These pieces are fun to make and are quite unusual because of the technique that is used to make it. This is not a casting from a mold, it is a fabricated piece with each detail being cut out of sheet metal and then layered on to make the motorcycle. Almost any model motorcycle can be produced this way even a custom bike. All we need is a side view picture and we can make a pendant for your motorcycle enthusiast.

One of my long time friends Tano Welch asked me last week to make him a piece of jewelry to wear for his reunion in Trinadad Colorado. The Trinadad Miners as their called is a school from an area with a rich mining history and the pick and shovel seemed to fit. After hand fabricating the piece I decided to add a bail that resembled some of the ladel hooks used in the CF&I Steel Mill where my dad worked his entire career. A lot of the mining in Trinadad was associated with CF&I Steel and I thought it would be a fitting touch.
