As the story goes in the bible, Moses stretched out his hand over the red sea and parted the water so that the people of Israel could escape the Egyptians, Exodus 14:21. A very powerful event in biblical times and now a cross commemorating that event and the faith it took to proceed. This cross is a work of art. Jessie Urie-White has outdone herself this time. Jessie is a full time stay at home mom and has been my apprentice for many years. Her breakout on this religious theme shows a great deal of artistic imagination and a wonderful design. The swirl in the middle is of course the waves of parting water, the three little ball of brass are the Israelites escaping the Egyptians.
